GG Games (gggames.cc) is a free collection of web games. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, why, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
When you browse without an account
- Language preference: if you pick a language, we remember it in a cookie (
gggames_lang). - Anonymous visitor ID: when you rate, report or suggest a game, we set a random ID cookie (
gggames_visitor, kept for up to one year) so each browser counts once and can change its vote. It is not linked to your name or email. - Ratings and reports: the game, your vote or report type, and any note you choose to type.
- Game suggestions: the link and note you send. If you are signed in, the suggestion is linked to your account.
- Searches and plays: search terms and play counts are stored as totals; we do not record who searched or played.
- Connection checks: when you start a game, your browser checks whether the game's website can be reached. We store only daily totals by game website, country, language and result; no IP address or visitor ID.
Stored only in your browser
Your theme, favorites, lists, recently played games and rating reminders are kept in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device and are not sent to us unless you sign in.
Installation reminders also use local storage to remember visits, when you dismissed the suggestion, and whether you have installed the app. These preferences stay on this browser and are never uploaded, even when you sign in. Clearing site data removes them.
When you sign in with Google
Signing in is optional. If you do, we receive your Google account ID, email address, name and profile picture, and we store your favorites, lists and recently played games so they sync across devices. A session cookie (gggames_sess, plus gggames_li) keeps you signed in for up to 180 days. Your email is never shown publicly.
Server logs
Like most websites, our servers record standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time, for security and troubleshooting.
Analytics
We use a self-hosted instance of Umami to count visits in aggregate. It does not set cookies and does not build personal profiles.
Advertising
We show ads through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners show you ads based on those visits. You can turn off personalized ads in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors at aboutads.info. Learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Games from other websites
The games are made and hosted by their creators. When you play one, it loads from the creator's website, which may use its own cookies or collect data under its own privacy policy. We do not control those sites.
How we use information
We use the information above only to run the site's features, prevent abuse, fix problems and understand which games people enjoy. We do not sell your personal information.
Your choices
- Clear cookies and site data in your browser at any time.
- Sign out, or delete your account from the My Favorites page; this immediately removes your account, lists and play history from our servers.
- Email us to ask what data we hold about you or to have it deleted.
Children
GG Games is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has signed in, contact us and we will delete the account.
Changes
We may update this policy when the site changes. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
